Whale frame

Since I was into the frame making last weekend (;-)) I also made a cute one for my little nephew.

I used this supercute whale cut from Silhouette (free shape of the week last week).

Place Rahba Kedima

The past weeks we've had some extra days off and although I was planning on getting some crafting done a nasty bug came across so I spent most of my days in bed, not having the energy to do anything at all.. But, last friday I started to feel like crafting again, so I did :-)

Here's a page I made about our trip to Marrakech (Morocco) in 2011. Other tourists were so kind to make pictures of the two of us.. I think this is about the only picture where we are together. I like the business of it, all the different colors..

For scrapping the pictures of this holiday I'm using papers of the Basic Grey Marrakech line from a few years back :-) Thought it was so appropriate..

supplies: cardstock (Bazzill Basics Paper), patterned papers (Basic Grey Marrakech line: Mandarin Slice, Palace Blue and Chai), buttons (orange button and map button by My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart "Be Amazing" Button card and striped button by American Crafts Dear Lizzy), letter stickers (Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type).

For this page I used a sketch from the Signature Series from the awesome Kelly Purkey. I designed my own frames (except for the one in vellum) for this layout. Love that personal touch! I'm actually quite happy with how this layout turned out!

Can't wait to hear what you think!

Mama, I love you!

Today is mothersday. For me it's not necessarily a day to buy huge presents for my mom, but a day to honor my mom, to thank her for all she is, all she does.

I've made this layout to honor my mom and our relationship. The journaling says: Dear mom, I admire you, for what you do for dad, for caring for the people around you, for your energy that doesn't seem to have an end. I love you!

supplies all come from Studio Calico kits: patterned papers (Echo Park For the Record 2 - Just my type & Bouquet, American Crafts Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go - On the clock & Wind Down, Basic Grey exclusive for Studio Calico XSC-015, My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine " Together" Chevron Paper & Lavender "Reasons Why" Swatch Paper), thickers (American Crafts, Memo in Burlap), gold washi tape (Freckled Fawn), sequins (Studio Calico), bakers twine (orange by My Mind's Eye, yellow by Divine Twine), brads (My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing), stickers (Echo Park For the Record 2 - Alpha Stickers and My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine "Wonderful"  Tiny Words Stickers), and wood banners (My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine "Hello"  Decorative Buttons)

For the base of this page I was heavily inspired by the 'Three' layout from Geralyn Sy. I love love love how she used the Amy Tan paper with the orange sketched drops. I have to admit I was struggling to use this paper. On the one hand because I love it so much and didn't want to ruin it and on the other hand because it's quite a busy pattern. So I used it the way Geralyn did and I love how this page turned out.

Have a great mothersday!

Mothersday presents

Tomorrow we celebrate mothersday here in the Netherlands and I crafted two simple little frames for my mother and my mother in law. Obviously I made good use of my Silhouette to craft these frames:-)

Can't wait to hear what you think!

Have a great mothersday tomorrow! (and have a great weekend!)

Project Pinterest April

It's time for another episode of Project Pinterest! (and again I'm a day late ;-))

In this series I will let myself be inspired by Pinterest to scrap, cook a meal, bake a pie, do my hair, my nails, et cetera. As many of you, I could browse around Pinterest for days on end, but I rarely really use any of my repinned images. And that's a shame, because there's so much good stuff outthere!

This month I let myself be inspired by metro art layouts such as thisthis and this. I've been wanting to try this for a while now.. And I probably will make some variations on this as well.. For now I've tried the washi underneath but I would love to use sequins or buttons some other time :-)

Here's my page:

Love how it turned out, although I'm contemplating embellishing a bit more...

Can't wait to hear what you think!
